HR Business Analyst - Temporary

Provide support to HRIS department and regional Human Resources groups by participating in activities which include analysis and research, data gathering, and reporting trends. Performs analysis of data and information for various UPMC products; takes a leadership role in the enhancement, development, documentation, and communication of identified variances.
Work with Corporate leaders and HRIS team to identify and develop system metrics
Partner with regional Human Resource departments to identify and develop specific metrics
Prepare analysis for decision support for Human Resources Management.
Perform statistical analyses, reporting and trending of issues. Explain results of analysis to non-technical internal customers and at times, senior management.
Identify variances and address with appropriate management or HR team.
Compile necessary data related to variances needed for analysis by management or HR team.
Monitor regional areas performance for identified metrics against other regions as well as national benchmarks.
Work with Data Coordinators and Auditors to maintain database integrity by identifying errors found in reporting.
Write ad hoc queries as needed.
Complete surveys as required.
Participate in team meetings, provide ideas and suggestions to ensure client satisfaction, and promote teamwork.
Must maintain confidentiality at all times.


Bachelor's degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or a quantitative field of study (i.e., mathematics, sciences, finance, etc.) required.
One year of related work experience required.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Meticulous attention to detail is a must.
Strong computer skills, with expert knowledge in Access, Excel, Crystal Reports, or other statistical software packages.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment a must.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projectsLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
