Mental Health Worker Associate (McKeesport School District)
Description

Purpose:



The Mental Health Worker Associate will work as
part of the Community and School-Based Behavioral Health Team program, a
comprehensive behavioral health team. The CSBBH team works with K-5 students at
Twin Rivers Primary and Intermediate School in the McKeesport Area School
District who have a diagnosed behavioral health disorder.


Responsibilities:




+ Plan and implement individual, group, classroom and
family therapies in the home, school and community settings as therapeutically
appropriate.


+ Responsible for case management and service
coordination needs of families.


+ Coordinate the data management involved in progress
evaluation and report to clinical staff through daily check-in/check-out
and monthly treatment plan reviews with families.


+ In cooperation with the team, develop, assess,
implement, and monitor group activities for the students.


+ Monitor consumer satisfaction (i.e. teachers, parents,
child, outside agency personnel).


+ Monitor daily data collection, summarization, and
graphing for assigned students. This includes educational, behavioral, and
skills interventions.


+ Monitor daily progress notes charted for each student.


+ Provide weekly positive communication to families on
students progress.


+ Participate in the development, implementation and
monitoring of behavioral and functional assessments of the students.


+ Provide professional development and consultation to
schools and families.


+ Implement non-physical crisis intervention support and
linkages to the school and families.


+ Document clinical and non-clinical interactions through
progress notes.


+ Promote professional rapport with co-workers, patients,
and visitors to the Institute.


+ Work effectively and cooperatively in a
trans-disciplinary environment, under the supervision of several senior
staff.


+ Assess and monitor skills development programming (cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, expressive, social skills, process) for the patients.


+ Assist in monitoring patient satisfaction (teachers, parents, child, outside agency)

Qualifications




+ Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education or related field required.


+ One (1) year of experience in mental health or related field preferred.


+ Prior experience working in a school setting (grades K-5) highly desired.




Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:



+ Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal


+ Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal


+ Act 73 FBI Clearance


+ Comprehensive Crisis Management - CCM training is required within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter
