Position Description

The School of Medicine Department of Immunology is seeking a qualified candidate for the Research Technician position.

The incumbent will provide assistance on major projects and the position will be funded by multiple sources of substantial sponsored research grant support.

The incumbent will perform laboratory procedures including flow cytometry and in vitro functional assays. The individual will maintain record keeping of laboratory supplies and antibodies and will perform a portion of the lab supplies ordering. The individual is responsible for all safety and compliance issues. The individual will also help with the training of new junior technicians and graduate students.

2-3 years experience

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

BS in Biology or science equivalent is required. At least 2 years laboratory experience in biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, or other related fields is preferred. Computer literate. Knowledge of mathematical and chemical principles. Experience with lab safety and regulatory issues is preferred.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
