Position Description

The Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Software Developer position.

Applications developed for CTSI are typically database-driven web applications, but also include components required to integrate with third-party software and clinical systems at UPMC, the university affiliated healthcare provider organization. The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

- Analyzing, designing, and programming custom-developed software applications that support research activities at the University of Pittsburgh
- Interacting with stakeholders to collect requirements
- Verifying application design and functionality
- Providing technical consultation as needed

Less than 1 year experience

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position

Related work experience, student employment and/or internships. A combination of education and experience can be substituted for formal degree requirements.
The position requires experience in programming multiple computer languages, development for relational databases, architecting and designing multi-tiered software applications, and creating and maintaining software with best practices and processes. Familiarity with T-SQL, PL/SQL, C#, Java or another object-oriented language, ASP, web services, XML, SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft .Net framework, MVC architecture, and reporting services is desired
